Ngati Kuta has lodged a claim with the Waitangi Tribunal, claim number WAI 1307. We are an associate member of the Taiamai Alliance for research purposes. We understand this is the process we have to follow to complete our Hapu history. Detailed below is our application for research funding to carry out Oral and Traditional Research to support our claim.

We are claiming back lands which were wrongfully taken, attempting to restore and adapt our traditional living systems which enactments by the Crown attempted to destroy through its policies of assimilation in the schools, churches and health policies.
